Delete Google Chrome Bookmarks on Mac

In Applications, Mac OS X by tigerNT4 Comments

Google Chrome beta: 4.0.295.0

I couldn’t batch delete bookmarks (delete more than one bookmark) using “Bookmark Manager”. In order to sync using xmark, I decided to delete all the bookmarks Chrome imported during installation. Here is how you can delete the bookmark file.

Go to: /Users/youraccount/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome then rename bookmark to bookmark.mmm and bookmark.bak to bookmark.nnn. Restart Google Chrome.

  1. Doesn’t work. It recreates bookmark file again while keeping bookmarks.mmm and bookmarks.nnn. There is something else that puts the bookmarks back and I still can’t figure it out. I tried to delete both bookmarks and bookmarks.bak file, alos tried to delete databases and Archive History, tried to delete a content in bookmark file and save that – the bookmarks won’t go away!!! It’s unbelievable! I can not find anything else associated with Chrome bookmarks on my Mac.. Any other advise you might have?
